NFL Tickets - Week 11 Observations by Brent Warnken

Here are some things that stood out to me in Week 11 of the 2009 NFL season.

Ricky Williams is still a very good running back. He's been relegated to backup duty ever since his return to the NFL due to the presence of Ronnie Brown, but he's got fresh legs for his age and he showed it on Thursday Night against Carolina in relief of an injured Brown. Williams ran the ball effectively and caught a touchdown out of the backfield. He scored three times in the contest and definitely should help the Dolphins sell NFL tickets for the remainder of the season.

The Colts are vulnerable. They may be undefeated, but they're certainly beatable. This team has their weaknesses, and will have a tough time winning any game in which Peyton Manning struggles at all. Their running game is suspect and their secondary is banged up. They're one of the best teams in the league, but they're no juggernaut.

The Redskins are not as bad as they're made out to be. Jason Campbell is actually having a pretty good season and the defense is a quality unit. Jim Zorn is likely out as head coach after the season, but this team might not be that far away from contending for a playoff spot. Perhaps a guy like Bill Cowher or Mike Shanahan could raise this team's level of play. Washington currently has the best pass defense in the league; I bet you didn't know that.

The Packers are getting on a roll. They're 6-4 and definitely in play for the playoffs. The NFC North is probably Minnesota's in the end, but the Packers certainly have a shot at a Wild Card berth. This offense is a dynamic one, with playmakers at every position. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is one of the best signal-callers in the league. If the defense can hold up, this team has a shot at the postseason.

The Chiefs have a bright future. Matt Cassel is going to have a good career; I'm convinced of that. Jamal Charles is a playmaker, plain and simple, and this team has other nice pieces on both sides of the ball. Their defense is young and growing up this season, and the offense has a lot of promise. With Dwayne Bowe back, this offensive unit can make some waves.

Ryan Fitzpatrick appears to be the best option for the Bills at quarterback. I was very surprised when the team decided to go with Fitzpatrick over Trent Edwards against Jacksonville, but it appears to have been the right move, as Fitzpatrick was able to get the offense going through the air in a fashion that it hasn't seen all season. They didn't win, but it really appears that the Trent Edwards era in Buffalo has come to an end. They've got to look at a quarterback in one of the first two rounds of the 2010 draft.

Bruce Gradkowski gives the Raiders a better chance to win than JaMarcus Russell. Gradkowski probably isn't going to see any Pro Bowls in his career, unless he happens to be on vacation Honolulu at the same time the game is being played, but he brings an energy to the game that seemed to invigorate the Oakland passing game.

Vince Young has revitalized his career. Young is 4-0 in four starts this season and is looking solid. He's not forcing anything and he's not looking to take off running too quickly. He can still make plays with his feet, but he goes through his progressions first. I think his prospects as a legitimate quarterback look good.
